"The body always expresses the spirit whose envelope it is and for those who can see, the nude offers the deepest meaning"
Rodin.
The human figure contains a seemingly endless supply of lessons. It is beautiful, mysterious and sensual. And everyone can relate to it on some level. Through my sculpture I try to reveal what I am learning about myself and the complexities of human nature. As some questions are resolved, at least for a while; new situations always seem to rise, and I am lured in again to try to understand and make sense of these experiences. Making sculpture is the most comfortable way for me to explore these mysteries.
Craftsmanship is also important to me so I do all the casting work myself. The sculpture is not finished until it is in its final medium, and casting allows me the freedom to connect with each piece as it goes through all the processes to the last creative step -- the patination. In this way each piece has a unique quality.
