The Bible urges us to "stand still and consider the wondrous works of the Lord." It is an exhortation appropriate for all people and times, but especially so for artists. Biking back roads provides moments of wonder, as do the simple objects of everyday life. We need only stand still and observe to see the "extraordinary" that resides in the most ordinary of objects. We need the unhurried eye to find not only the beauty, complexity and simplicity therein but also our response to it.
