One of the things I enjoy most about painting is seeing the final image unraveling itself from the layers of paint. Although I often use photography as a reference, I never really know what the final result will be, as I often make adaptations from the model images. I choose subjects that intertwine with my life, yet it is later near the completion of the work that I also acknowledge the recurring themes within the format that I’ve chosen, especially water and its’ reflective properties and the properties of the natural light.
